Our aim is to have 50+ lesbians feel comfortable getting together in a casual, safe, fun environment. We hope to plan events that will encourage participation, with both singles and couples welcome.  We will have events all over Long Island, especially in Suffolk County, where the need is greatest.    Suggestions from our members for upcoming events are welcome, and we look forward to sharing your thoughts and ideas.  We're looking forward to meeting you and making new friends!

This is a Meetup Group for Women who have discovered their sexuality later in life (35+). The Dyke March is a protest march, not a parade -- we don't ask for a permit, because we have the right to protest. We recognize that we must organize amongst ourselves to fight for our rights, our safety, and for visibility. Thousands of dykes take over the streets every year in celebration of LBTQ women and to protest against ongoing discrimination, harassment, and anti-LBTQ violence in schools, on the job, in our families, and on the streets.
