About The Denver Lesbian Moms Meetup Group
The Denver Lesbian Moms Meetup Group is here to enrich our lives by creating community for our families. Whether you are a two mom or a single mom family, expecting, adopting, trying to conceive, or just thinking about parenthood--this is the place for you.
We consist of a great group of women all striving for the same thing, providing what's best for our children so that we may be blessed enough to watch them thrive and succeed.
While every member of this group identifies as Lesbian or Queer, we are as diverse as our community at large and we span the spectrum of age, race, and background. Our families are large and small, some are step-families and some are not, some are single and some are not, some are finding their beginnings in their life as lesbian moms and some are seasoned veterans. No matter where you are in your journey in or to Lesbian/ Queer parenthood, you are welcome here.
We try to hold at least one Meetup a month. These are usually held on Sundays. We gather to let our children play and friendships develop. We share stories, antidotes, jokes, and talk, all with the goal of creating a strong community for ourselves and our families. There is no pressure to conform, only the easy laid back atmosphere to be who you are* .
Often we will use the message board as another means to communicate outside of our monthly events. Periodically we will update the board with articles relevant to parenting, "family" issues, events happening in the community that are kid and or "family" friendly.
The message board is there for you. So please use it as you see fit. You may post questions, concerns, events, or any topic of your choice. We only ask that you maintain the integrity of the group and be respectful to each and every member and the intention of the group (to build community).
The board and this group are what you make it!
As organizers, one of our goals for this group, is that we not only help build community connections for our children, but that we cause our members?our families to feel safe.

One of the great things about this group is that we have the ability to build "profiles" to allow people to get to know us a little better and our intentions for joining the group. It (hopefully) provides an immediate sense of comfort. Even though you might not post a picture, filling in the "Introduction" is a good way to begin instantly connecting with other moms or moms to be in our community.
All profile questions must be filled out in order for membership to be considered. So just take a step and introduce yourself, and together we can build and provide the strong community of families our children deserve.
Once you become a member of this great group, you will have two months to attend a meetup. If you are unable to attend a meetup within your first two months of joining, please email the organizer to discuss this. Remember that the point of Meetup.com is to Meetup!
*We love it when the single moms can make connections beyond friendship, however please keep in mind, that this group IS NOT a dating service. If this is your primary intent for joining this group, please go elsewhere. Thank you for your understanding.*
